About bRUNch Running

bRUNch Running is a Colorado-based social running community and experiential marketing company that inspires individuals to get moving and eat real food. Founded by RRCA running coaches, Cortney Logan and Alexandra Weissner, the community hosts runs that start and finish at local restaurants. Their events offer a welcoming environment for the everyday athlete to get their sweat on while making friends that share their passion for fitness and brunch! To make their runs more fun and resourceful, bRUNch partners with brands on their new product launches. This results in a big increase in awareness and conversions for the brands, during and after events.

Using an experiential marketing approach, all partnerships combing both digital campaigns and live activations. It is through these partnerships that bRUNch becomes an extension of your brand and the team is able to speak to the quality and integrity of your company.

The Race

The bRUNch Run is unique event that embraces both food and fitness; two concepts usually not viewed as as going together. The annual event begins with a timed 5K and 10K run (walk, skip or stroll) through Stapleton Central Park and ends in celebration with a huge brunch-themed festival after crossing the finish line. After running races themselves, Cortney and Alexandra, decided to create a race that they wanted to run. Most races have a few tents in the finish area and they want to celebrate the great accomplishment of finishing a race with a party like no other. Fitness and food go together like bacon and eggs. Athletes need real food post-workout to get the best benefits from their sweat sessions and vendors/partners/sponsors want to truly engage with participants. Partners at this event see a huge return on their investment that goes way past impressions. Attendees mix and mingle in the festival space for two hours after crossing the finish line, giving partners ample time to have meaningful conversations that lead to conversions.

Event Demographics and Stats

The bRUNch community is 80% women between the ages of 28 and 45. The majority of these women live in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, California and New York. Many live a very active lifestyle and belong to numerous boutique fitness studios and gyms. On average they are sweating it out 5-7 days per week.

They care about the foods and beverages they put into their bodies, but this does not mean that they do not like to have a little fun and indulge. Many of these individuals are mothers and fur-moms, so they are also very focused on their families overall wellness. On average, they dine out or pick up food 4 times each week. This does not include coffee, as many will enjoy multiple cups each day either made at home or purchased from a local roaster. When not sweating it out, they are highly engaged in their local communities and attend local events and they love to travel. About 60% of the community has traveled for a race in the past year. Post-race they enjoy taking in the sites.

About the Founders

“A blonde and brunette go to brunch.” Cortney, the blonde, and Alex, the brunette, both started running for different reasons yet both have the same affinity for the sport. Running is what bonded them together, but bRUNch is what made them besties. They donut take themselves too seriously. They love a good pun, a good run, and of course brunch!

Cortney Logan is a creative and super fast runner. Raised in Colorado, Cortney fell in love with sports and the outdoors as kid. She found running after getting engaged to her now husband. After their wedding she continued to run and developed a deeper passion for the sport as an opportunitiy to spend time with her friends and dogs. It was actually Cortney’s idea to run their first half marathon more than 10 years ago. Her husband was celebrating his birthday and wanted to go to Vegas. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Vegas Half Marathon was the same weekend, so Cortney invited a few friends along including her future co-founder. The group had a blast and Cortney was hooked on the distance. She is known for her love of bright colors and fun leggings. As she is leading the community out on runs, she can always be spotted sporting either hot pink or donut leggings. To date Cortney has finished multiple half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks, all while sporting the coolest leggings and even a few costumes she has made herself. Fitness has become an on-going journey and part of her daily life and she looks forward as she continues to grow her knowledge and experience. She begins most mornings with a coffee, which her husbands brings to her, and a run with her newly adopted pup, Luna.

Alexandra Weissner is a energetic woman whose passion for competitive sports and fitness has guided her to a career in the health and fitness industries. Growing up in New Jersey, Alexandra played a variety of sports from swimming, ballet, soccer and basketball, but then in 1998 she watched the Winter Olympics and fell in love with the sport of alpine skiing. Having learned to ski at age 5, she already loved the sport but at age 15 she convinced her parents to allow her to move across the country to Steamboat Springs, Colo. to attend boarding school and train with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. While her skiing career did not play out as planned, her love for fitness continued. After graduating from Northern Arizona University, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in public relations. In 2010, she moved to Denver to be closer to the mountains and to lead a more active lifestyle. Since moving to Denver and launching bRUNch with her best friend, Alexandra has trained for numerous half marathon, completed two marathons and got into triathlons and paddleboarding. Alexandra is grateful for the life fitness and sports have given to her and she hopes to share her love of brunch, especially blueberry pancakes, passion and motivation with others to help them lead their best life.
